Last night, I called a friend who just came back from the earthquake area. He just landed at the airport when the earthquake happened. He went to the center area as soon as he could.

"I went to the area far earlier than Premier WEN Jiabao." He said. "I went to Beichuang, qingchuan, wenchuan, dujiangyan," he said."so sad, so horrofied, so touched. Those children...but we couldn't do much. the rescue people couldn't do much. The people were buried under layers of layers of concrets, and those rescue workers work bare hands! There should have been more people saved." I asked him if the experience would change his attitude towards life, and he said of course. He said once he was there, he knew that only donation is not enough, he himself wanted to do something for those people. "You can't not care." He told me.

I asked him about the orphan adoption situation, since I want to apply for adopt one. He said too many families are waiting adopt and too many people are waiting for sponsoring.  He told me that there are a lot of volunteers, and now the Sichuan government discourage people go there without an organization. "The roads are not good enough yet, and too many volunteers are there, so some of the roads even get jamed by the volunteers' cars. Most of the volunteers do care and love, but as a matter of fact, they can't help much. They need professionals now. "

He said people are very brave and strong,and they are doing their best to go on their lives. I asked him if he is depressed by what he saw, and I can't stop crying whenever I turn on the TV, he said he couldn't. I told him I feel guilty living the comfortable life I am living, he said he too. "But there are a lot more need us to do in the future." He said.

Friends, let's live our life as everyday is the last day, let's love our family as there is no more days to love.  Anything can happen anytime, let's not take anything we have for granted.

we could google on the net, that the earth quake happened in Tangshan took about 242,000 lives(authoritative information). Even till now, we don't know the exact number. But it's more than 3 times of the Sichuan earth quake(6,9136, at present) obviously.

And more people in the world pay attention to the rescue progress for Sichuan quake this time than Tangshan quake at that time. During a period of time, almost every channel was broadcasting rescuing stories every moment. 

Sichuan is unlucky to have the quake, but they are lucky to have it in this time.
